Jamsha Union Parishad was established in 1983. The river Kali Ganga flows through this union and joins the Buri Ganga to the east. Launches, steamers, engine driven boats ply the river daily. Numerous fishermen make a living by fishing. The Kali Ganga Bridge has been built over this river.
